September 10, 2025The 2025 Numeric Maths Camp was a resounding success, bringing together 428 learners from across South Africa for four days of immersive, fun-filled learning. Held at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, University of Johannesburg, and the University of Cape Town, the camp combined rigorous academic engagement with creative activities, leaving a lasting impact on both learners and coaches.
Highlights of the Camp:
- Engaging Curriculum: Learners explored geometry, algebra, and Pythagoras’ theorem through interactive lessons, with Johannesburg participants showing a remarkable 13.89% improvement in assessments.
- Theme: “Space and Beyond”: Learners designed posters and participated in team-building activities like the Math Relay Olympics, blending creativity with critical thinking.
- Excursions: Visits to the Cape Town Science Centre and Johannesburg’s Museum of Illusions added an element of adventure to the learning experience.
- Strong Attendance: KZN achieved near-perfect attendance (99.8%), thanks to proactive follow-ups by the program team.
