Tori grew up in the Lowveld (Mpumalanga) and then had the privilege of studying at the University of Stellenbosch. Before settling down in Cape Town in 2011, Tori lived and worked in London and Bangkok and came back to South Africa where her heart is filled with the people, the places and the potential of the country. Her professional career has seen her working in the NGO space for ten years within the disabilities and the sports sectors where she developed a love impact driven work. In her "quiet" time, Tori is a proud mum to two incredible children and can often be found running Table Mountain trails with her husband and friends or camping.
Luvuyo, better known as LV to most was born in the Eastern Cape. A UCT graduate, he first served as a Program Manager in Cape Town before relocating to Durban to help establish Numeric's Durban office. Extremely passionate about people, LV prides himself in the work that he does. When not at work, he spends his time chilling with his close friends and reflecting on how he can make a bigger impact in the community.
Jo brings a wealth of knowledge in administration and finance which is central to her role as Finance Manager and supporting the team in its day to day activities. A genius at paying close attention to detail, she believes wholeheartedly in education especially in the foundation phase. While mathematics was her favorite subject at school, in her personal time she enjoys sewing, reading and spending time with her fluffy pets.
With her calm and quiet demeanor, one could easily mistake her for a shy person. A nurturer at heart who is passionate about supporting the development of others, Honji thrives in supporting managers to build great teams. Honji believes in different variations of leadership and that everyone can make an impact. Her experience spans in Administration, HR and Operations. A homebody at heart, Honji also enjoys a day spent discovering new vineyards, spending the day at the beach with her two little humans and taking long drives to reflect.
Matt is a former attorney who took a gap year to teach English in Korea. During this time, he discovered his passion for education and came back to South Africa with a mission: to use his skills in a support role at an education NGO. He found that role at Numeric and hopes to help the organisation thrive. Outside of work, he enjoys both rugby and yoga, as well as walking his dogs on the mountain.
The name Bernice Skhotha is a brand. Affectionately called Sis B by her Coaches, Bernice is a force to be reckoned with. A teacher both professionally and at heart. A mentor who always strives to leave a positive impact on people around her. Her passion and purpose is on teacher development. When not at work, Bernice is being a super mom to her little girl.
A BSc in Physics graduate from the University of the Western Cape; and former Numeric Coach, Sibusiso believes in the power of aligning yourself with what God has assigned you to do on earth. With his love for numbers and for learning, he believes that God has entrusted him with his wisdom so he can interact with others in a way that pleases God and the people he serves. He believes that by becoming a good manager with what you currently have, then God will entrust you to manage more and be able to BE MORE, DO MORE, and HAVE MORE.
Tamie is a returning baby adult who worked for the organisation as a Program Manager in 2015 – 2016, straight from a 2-year teaching program for Teach South Africa. Coming back as Chief Program Manager heading the Gauteng team in 2024. A Cape Town born ‘gentlemen’ with an aura of positivity and passion for educational excellence. He is bringing essential skills, vast knowledge and experience in Mathematics education. Outside of work, he enjoys conversations around spirituality and realism ideologies.
Growing up Thandeka found joy in helping her young cousins with their homework, this indicates that Thandeka had a passion for teaching at a very young age. Even though she did not pursue teaching as a profession, she still finds joy in seeing children from low income areas getting the help they need. When at home, Thandeka enjoys reading, learning new dances as she loves dancing and Chess is her favorite sport.
Sisi is a happy and positive human being with a great sense of humor. She believes in quality education for all, and that children should be helped realise that mathematics can be thoroughly enjoyed. Her experience in working with children for three years made her realize that when given adequate support and guidance, not even the sky is the limit for them. Sisi is an aspiring fitness bunny. When not at work, she's at the gym, or not; or restraining herself from indulging in dunked wings.
Coming from a disadvantaged background, with no formidable role models but teachers. Onkemetse performed poorly in his matric. With a self-discovered innate ability to do well in mathematics, Onkemetse decided to pursue a degree in mathematics, this journey helped him acknowledge the knowledge gaps he has. Upon completing it he looked through his rear mirror to see who he could give a hand to. Onkemetse loves football not only as a supporter he is playing amateur football as well.
Evans is a fun, sociable, energetic, confident, and outgoing individual who also takes pleasure in helping young South Africans reach their full potential. He loves mathematics and understands it well, but much more than that, he enjoys sharing his enthusiasm with learners. Outside of work, Evans spends most of his time with friends and family. His wish is to tour around different geographies exploring new things.
Noxolo also known as "Nox" was born and raised in KwaZulu Natal. She describes herself as a fun, optimistic and kind individual. She is passionate about social justice, developing skills, advocating for children and education. She believes mathematics is fun, interactive and ultimately is the key to help uplift and eradicate poverty in underprivileged communities.
Zama is a ray of sunshine; she brings energy that many love basking in. Highly optimistic, patient and kind. She cares about changing the world even if it means reaching one person at a time. She believes that education is one thing that no one can take away from you. She also believes that every child deserves a chance at a better life and a brighter future. Her love for non-profit work began when she took part in volunteer work where she focused mainly on contributing towards the betterment and development of society through education. Every day was rewarding, full of purpose and refreshing that is when she knew she could do this her whole life.
